Information you provide directly:
- Name and email address (when you create an account)
- Age (used for group matching and age-appropriate recommendations)
- Gender (optional, used for group filtering features such as women-only or men-only groups)
- City/location (used to show you relevant local groups, events, and venues)
- Bio and personal interests ("vibes") that you choose to share on your profile
- Profile photos or avatar information
- Messages sent within group chats
- Feedback and support communications
Information collected automatically:
- Device push notification token (used to send you notifications about group activity, approvals, and messages)
- Device type and operating system
- App usage data (screens visited, features used)
- Crash reports and performance data
Information from your use of the app:
- Groups you create, join, or request to join
- Events and venues you view or interact with
- Badges earned and activity history
- Reports you submit about other users

- To create and manage your account
- To show you relevant groups, events, and venues based on your city and interests

- Consent: For optional data such as gender, push notifications, and marketing communications — you can withdraw consent at any time

5. Special category data
Gender is considered special category data under UK GDPR. We collect this only where you voluntarily provide it to enable group filtering features. You are not required to provide this information. Where provided, we process it based on your explicit consent. You can remove this information from your profile at any time.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Supabase: Our database and authentication provider, used to store all app data securely
- Expo / Expo Push: Used to deliver push notifications to your device
- Legal authorities: Where required by law or to protect user safety
Other users of the app will see your profile name, age, city, bio, vibes, and badges when you participate in groups or chats. Do not include information in your profile that you do not wish to be visible to other users.
7. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and associated data is deleted from our systems. Some data may be retained for a limited period in backups or where required by law.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

9. Push notifications
We collect your device's push notification token to send you notifications about group activity. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings. Disabling notifications does not delete your account or data.
10. Children
Saturday is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.
11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data storage via Supabase. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
